FTC stands for federal trade commission the agency developed for the protection of consumer rights. FTC is the top-rated agency of America where people want to work. The incentives and the benefits that FTC gives to their employees attract the people to become a part of FTC but getting a place in FTC is not as easy as you think. FTC receives piles of resumes from the antitrust and law students that’s why the competition is tough. FTC offers opportunities every year for an entry-level FTC attorney the antitrust law student in final year and the lawyers with an economic and antitrust law background can apply and can start their journey with the top-rated agency. When it comes to the history of FTC so, it was established in 1914 by President Woodrow Wilson. The main objective of the FTC is to protect the consumers and to prevent the business and investors from anticompetitive mergers.

What type of anti-competitive mergers of the business in which FTC does an action?

The main objective of the FTC is that prevent the market from business practices that are not in the favor of consumers. Some of the most common anti-competitive mergers are.

∙         Fraudulent activities

∙         Monopolistic merger

∙         Price-fixing

The FTC is an open forum for the consumers they can easily submit their complaints about any business products or anything. Any consumer can submit the complaints on the website of FTC.

When FTC receives any complaint then first they send the business CID. CID stands for Civil Investigation Demand according to the defined section 5(a) act the FTC can challenge any advertisement and business practices because FTC is an independent agency and free to do challenges or do investigations against the business. When companies receive CID, it means the business has to give the response of CID and provide everything that the FTC investigation team ask for mostly the team wants to know about the company’s internal information and documentation if the FTC team find anything that violates the laws of consumer rights then FTC has a power sue your business in the court. The power of FTC is at the level that many big ventures are disappeared from the market and can not survive because of doing illegal activities and the FTC investigations. If you are not done anything wrong and you are asked for a CID response from FTC then don’t worry FTC just make sure that all the evidence should be right and you can get off from the situation.
